Forza Motorsport Celebrates its 20th Anniversary with a Major Update
The acclaimed racing simulator Forza Motorsport is celebrating two decades of experience in the virtual racing world. To commemorate this milestone, a significant update has been released for PC and Xbox Series X|S, loaded with new features and improvements for the player community.
One of the most anticipated additions is the introduction of “public meetings”, a function requested by the community.
Four different meeting modes will be available, two with drift rules and two with race rules. Both modes feature a playlist that goes through the 73 track layouts available for their respective rule sets. The drift mode also offers a 24/7 playlist of the newly reincorporated Fujimi Kaido. In race mode, a 24/7 playlist of Nürburgring’s Nordschleife is offered, for lovers of the “Green Hell” in Germany.
Developers have taken advantage of this update to improve the game’s artificial intelligence (AI), optimizing its behavior for cleaner and safer driving, especially in the chaotic race starts. Players will also notice improvements in the steering wheel behavior, although they will need to adjust the steering sensitivity when using it for the first time after the update.
In line with the anniversary spirit, several songs from previous Forza Motorsport soundtracks have been added to the game, along with some completely new pieces.
Career mode fans will be delighted to know that a new featured tour has been permanently added: the “20th Anniversary Tour”. This tour consists of seven groups with four stops each, totaling 28 races. Each week a quartet of races will be enabled, starting with Fujimi Kaido, Maple Valley, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and Sunset Peninsula Raceway.
Completing the entire tour will reward players with the 2022 Acura NSX Type S, and each stage of the tour will unlock a new racing suit inspired by the games in the series.
The update also includes a large number of fixes, adjustments, challenges, and multiplayer tours, which will undoubtedly make this historic moment even more special for racing fans.
