Brad Pitt at the premiere of the movie “F1”. Pitt plays the character ‘Sonny Hayes’. Great news for motorsports and movie fans. The film “F1”, starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski, could have a sequel in development. The film, which had unprecedented access to the world of Formula 1 over the last three years, has been a resounding success, surpassing $600 million worldwide in August. This makes it Apple’s highest-grossing film and the most successful sports film of all time. Apple’s own CEO, Tim Cook, has confirmed that details are already being discussed for a possible continuation.

It’s definitely something that’s being talked about. It’s been such a big blockbuster for us. We’re very proud of it.

The film “F1” centers on the character of Sonny Hayes, played by Pitt, who unexpectedly returns to Formula 1 after an accident that marked his career. Hayes joins the struggling APXGP team and quickly clashes with his teammate Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris. The production was characterized by its authenticity, using real race cars and scenes filmed at F1 events, including Pitt and Idris’ participation in the formation lap of the 2023 British Grand Prix. Furthermore, renowned drivers like Charles Leclerc and George Russell shared the podium with Pitt at last year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, participating in key scenes for the film’s climax.
