F1 Academy: A Secure Future with the Support of Formula 1 Teams

The ten Formula 1 teams have renewed their commitment to the F1 Academy, the all-female series. This multi-year agreement guarantees the continuity of support for the drivers and the use of team designs on the single-seaters beyond the current season.

This agreement is based on the model implemented in 2024, where each F1 team began to support a driver from the Academy and incorporate their colors on the car. The new alliance ensures the extension of this collaboration for several more years, with the future incorporation of Cadillac, which will join the Formula 1 grid in 2026 and the F1 Academy program from 2027.

The F1 Academy has also announced an update to its participation regulations. Starting in 2027, drivers who have competed for two seasons may receive an exemption to participate in a third year. This measure, described by the organizers as a “personalized approach to nurturing talent”, will only apply to drivers who demonstrate clear growth potential.

The long-term commitment of support from the current ten Formula 1 teams, along with the addition of Cadillac from 2027, sends a strong message about the future of the F1 Academy.

Susie Wolff, Managing Director of the series
The F1 Academy, founded in 2023, seeks to create a clearer path for women in motorsport and expand participation at the grassroots level. After its inaugural season as an independent series, the championship was integrated into the Formula 1 support program in 2024, competing alongside the grand prix events worldwide. The 2025 season will culminate with a title definition in Las Vegas (November 20-22), where Doriane Pin, backed by Mercedes, leads Maya Weug, supported by Ferrari, by nine points before the final round. The 2024 champion, Abbi Pulling, backed by Alpine, moved up to the GB3 Championship this year, demonstrating the Academy’s success as a platform for female drivers.
