Ferrari President John Elkann has reiterated the company’s “full confidence” in Formula 1 team principal Fred Vasseur, who is under pressure.
Vasseur received a multi-year contract extension in July. However, a report this week suggested that Elkann has been looking at former Red Bull boss Christian Horner to replace him next year.
Horner could return to F1 in the spring of 2026, after reaching an agreement with his former team, which is estimated at 100 million dollars.
The report comes at a time when Ferrari is nearing the end of a disappointing campaign, having failed to achieve a single victory in a Grand Prix.
Elkann added: “I also want to reaffirm the importance of teamwork by everyone to maintain focus on the only goal that matters: always give our best on the track.” Ferrari hasn’t won an F1 championship of any kind since the constructors’ in 2008. Kimi Raikkonen’s title in 2007 remains the last one won by a Ferrari driver.I want to express our full confidence in our team principal, Fred Vasseur, and in the work he is doing together with all our colleagues at Scuderia Ferrari: the mechanics, engineers and drivers competing this weekend in Austin.
