Ferrari Confirms Its Trust in Fred Vasseur Despite Rumors
Ferrari President John Elkann has reiterated the company’s “full confidence” in Formula 1 team boss Fred Vasseur, despite recent pressure and rumors. Vasseur received a multi-year contract extension in July. However, a report suggested that Elkann had been looking at former Red Bull boss Christian Horner to replace him next year. Horner could return to F1 in the spring of 2026, after reaching an agreement with his former team. The report emerged at a time when Ferrari is approaching the end of a season without victories in major races.
Elkann also reaffirmed the importance of teamwork to maintain focus on the sole objective: to give the best on the track. Ferrari hasn’t won an F1 championship since the constructors’ in 2008. Kimi Raikkonen’s title in 2007 remains the last one won by a Ferrari driver.I want to express our full confidence in our team principal, Fred Vasseur, and in the work he is carrying out together with all our colleagues at Scuderia Ferrari: the mechanics, engineers and drivers who are competing this weekend in Austin,” said Elkann in a statement.
