Bearman Criticizes Tsunoda’s Driving Style at the United States Grand Prix

The young Formula 1 driver, Oliver Bearman, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the way Yuki Tsunoda drove during the United States Grand Prix. Bearman described Tsunoda’s driving as dangerous and a bad example for young aspiring drivers. The tension between both drivers intensified after Bearman was forced to take evasive action to avoid Tsunoda’s Red Bull, who was defending his position mid-race. Tsunoda locked the apex at Turn 15, forcing Bearman off the track and losing control of his single-seater.

I felt that what he did was quite dangerous, against the spirit of how we should race and against the image we should project to the children growing up in karting and those things. This is not how we race.

Bearman, visibly annoyed, added that Tsunoda was moving from side to side on the track for several laps and that, when trying to overtake, Tsunoda reacted without leaving enough space, which forced Bearman to avoid a possible collision. Bearman finished the race in ninth position, while Tsunoda achieved seventh place. Bearman regretted that the incident prevented him from obtaining a better result.

In the sprint race, Tsunoda was also involved in an incident, and Bearman suggested that his driving might be a bit desperate. For his part, Tsunoda downplayed the incidents, stating that they were part of the race. He assured that he was in control and that he was simply fighting to stay in the top ten.
