Alonso sees Newey’s appointment as a logical step for Aston Martin
Fernando Alonso believes that the appointment of Adrian Newey as team principal of Aston Martin is the “logical step” in the team’s quest to become world champions in the future. On Wednesday, Aston Martin announced the new role for the F1 design legend, who will join from Red Bull at the beginning of 2025 as a shareholder and technical administrative partner. The arrival of Newey comes after a disappointing season: Aston Martin currently occupies eighth place in the championship, despite the enormous investment of owner Lawrence Stroll in a new factory and a dream team of technical talent behind the scenes.
