India Defines Its Starting Eleven for the Adelaide Test

Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw have been selected to represent India in the upcoming Adelaide Test. Umesh Yadav completes the trio of fast bowlers. The main questions before the Test revolved around Shaw’s continuity, the inclusion of a spinner, and the choice of wicketkeeper. Finally, the team resolved these doubts by announcing their lineup. Shaw, despite the pressure exerted by Shubman Gill, who performed better in the practice matches, remains as the opener. Although his recent performances were not spectacular, the team opted for continuity at the top of the order.

Similarly, Ashwin, the starting spinner, kept his place, especially after Ravindra Jadeja’s injury. Regarding the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha instead of Pant. The team management seems to have prioritized Saha’s skills as a pure wicketkeeper, considering that the pink ball might require a more consistent performance in that position. Yadav, with previous experience in Australia, was selected as the third fast bowler, replacing the injured Ishant Sharma.India Lineup:
