Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw have been selected to represent India in the Adelaide Test. Umesh Yadav will complete the trio of fast bowlers.
The main questions India faced before the Test included Shaw’s continuity, the inclusion of a spinner, and the choice of wicketkeeper.
Shaw, despite the pressure for Shubman Gill’s good performance in the practice matches, was backed as an opener. His previous performances, although with some concerns, were considered sufficient to keep him in the team.
The titular spinner, especially with the absence of Ravindra Jadeja due to injury, also retained his place. As for the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha, prioritizing his skills in the position.
Yadav was selected as the third fast bowler, due to his experience and good performance in the practice game.
