India Defines its Lineup for the Adelaide Test

Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw will represent India in the upcoming Test in Adelaide. Umesh Yadav will be the third fast bowler. These were the main questions India considered before the Test, including the decision to back Shaw, the inclusion of a spinner, and the choice of wicketkeeper.

The team announced its starting eleven on the eve of the Test, clearing up any uncertainty.

Shaw, under pressure, kept his place despite Shubman Gill’s good performance in the practice games. Shaw, who has shown his ability to be destructive, seeks to consolidate his position.

Similarly, Ashwin, the first-choice spinner, retained his place, especially with the absence of Ravindra Jadeja due to injury.

Regarding the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha, preferring him to Pant. The team management seems to have decided that the pink ball will demand a more established wicketkeeper.

Yadav was the frontrunner to be India’s third fast-bowling seamer, replacing the injured Ishant Sharma. Yadav impressed in the only practice match he played, showing his experience.
