India reveals its lineup for the Adelaide Test

The India team has announced its lineup for the upcoming Test in Adelaide, with Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw set to represent their country. Umesh Yadav completes the trio of fast bowlers. The team selection focused on several key decisions: Shaw’s continuity, the inclusion of a spinner with Ashwin, and the choice of wicketkeeper. Shaw, despite the competition from Shubman Gill, who performed better in the practice games, was chosen as the opener. Although Shaw did not score big in the practice games, he was given the opportunity to prove his worth. Ashwin, the titular spinner, was also confirmed in the team, especially with the absence of Ravindra Jadeja due to injury. The decision to play a spinner was questioned due to the average of spinners in day Tests in Australia.

As for the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha instead of Pant. The team seems to have decided that the pink ball will require a more experienced wicketkeeper. Yadav was selected as the third fast bowler, replacing the injured Ishant Sharma.
