Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw have been selected to represent India in the next Test in Adelaide. Umesh Yadav will complete the trio of fast bowlers.
The main questions for India before the Test included Shaw’s continuity, the inclusion of a spinner, and the choice of wicketkeeper.
Shaw, despite the pressure for Shubman Gill’s good performance in the practice matches, was confirmed as the opener. Although his recent scores were not high, continuity in the lineup was a key factor.Ravindra Jadeja’s absence due to injury also influenced the decision to keep Ashwin in the team.
Regarding the wicketkeeper, Saha was chosen over Pant, due to his superior skills behind the stumps, especially with the pink ball.
Yadav, with experience in Australia and a good performance in the practice game, was selected as the third fast bowler, replacing Ishant Sharma.India Lineup:
