India announces XI for Adelaide Test: Shaw, Saha and Ashwin to start

The India team has been announced for the Adelaide Test, with Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin and Prithvi Shaw in the lineup. Umesh Yadav completes the trio of fast bowlers.

Analysis of the Indian Selection for the Adelaide Test

The main questions India faced before the test included Shaw’s continuity, the inclusion of a spinner, and the choice of wicketkeeper. Finally, the team has cleared up the doubts, announcing its starting eleven. Shaw, despite the pressure from Shubman Gill, who performed better in the practice matches, has been selected. Although Shaw didn’t have the best results in the practice games, the team opted for continuity in the opening.

The absence of Ravindra Jadeja due to injury and concussion also influenced the decision to keep Ashwin in the team. Regarding the wicketkeeper, India has opted for Saha, preferring him to Pant. The team management believes that Saha’s skills are superior in conditions where greater precision in reception is required. Yadav, with previous experience in Australia, was selected as the third fast bowler, replacing the injured Ishant Sharma.
