India Defines its Lineup for the Adelaide Test

Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, and Prithvi Shaw have been selected to represent India in the next Test in Adelaide. Umesh Yadav will complete the trio of fast bowlers. The main questions for India before the match centered on Shaw’s starting position, the inclusion of a spinner with Ashwin, and the choice of wicketkeeper. Shaw, despite the competition from Shubman Gill, who performed better in the practice matches, retained his place as opener. Although his scores in the practice games were not high, the team management sought to maintain continuity at the top of the batting order.

The titular spinner, Ashwin, also kept his position, especially in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja due to injury. The decision not to include Ashwin in an opening match of the series was criticized in the past, and this time it was decided to maintain the player’s experience. Regarding the wicketkeeper, India opted for Saha instead of Pant. The team management believes Saha’s skills are superior, especially in conditions where a more experienced wicketkeeper is required. Yadav was selected as the third fast bowler, replacing the injured Ishant Sharma. His experience and performance in the practice game solidified his place in the team.India’s Line-up: Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), R Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah
