Zayas, who signed with Top Rank at 16 and turned professional a year later, has risen in boxing to reach the title contention. Now, at 22, he will seek to obtain his first world championship against a challenger García.When we signed Xander at 16, he was a teenager with all the potential in the world. Now he is a young contender with a tremendous opportunity to win his first world title.

García arrives at the fight after surprising the previously undefeated Charles Conwell in April. The Mexican boxer has won eight consecutive fights since losing by split decision to Etoundi Michel William in January 2023.This is a dream I’ve worked hard for my whole life. I have a good opponent in Jorge Garcia, a Mexican hungry to become a world champion. But I am ready to raise the Puerto Rican flag high and become a world champion at 22 years old.

The card will also feature undefeated featherweight Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington and rising super lightweight star Emiliano Vargas. Carrington will face Namibian Mateus Heita for the WBC interim featherweight title in the co-main event. Vargas, the youngest son of former world champion Fernando Vargas, will seek to overcome the challenge of Ecuadorian Alexander Espinoza in the televised opening bout. Many people thought I wasn’t going to win my last fight, but I achieved a surprising victory. Although I was the underdog, I surprised the world. This fight will be no different. Becoming a world champion is my dream, and I’m ready to make it a reality on July 26th with a dominant victory over Xander Zayas. Mexico will have a new champion this summer.
