Deontay Wilder Returns to the Ring Against Derek Chisora in April
The WBC heavyweight ex-champion, Deontay Wilder, will return to action on April 4th, facing Derek Chisora at the O2 Arena in London. The expected fight was announced this Friday, marking a significant event in the boxing world.
The fight will be the main event of the first edition of Misfits Pro and will be broadcast live on DAZN, promising a night full of excitement for fans.
Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) will seek his second consecutive victory, after a complicated period between 2020 and 2024, where his record was 1-4. After an undefeated start to his career (42-0-1), Wilder suffered consecutive knockout defeats to Tyson Fury.
Subsequently, he achieved a knockout victory against Robert Helenius, but suffered defeats against Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang before knocking out Tyrrell Herndon in June.
This fight will mark the return of Wilder, 40 years old, to the United Kingdom after 12 years. His last fight in England was against Audley Harrison in 2013.
The “Bronze Bomber” will face former title contender Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs). Chisora has won three consecutive fights against Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce, and Otto Wallin, since his knockout loss to then-WBC heavyweight champion Fury in 2022. Chisora, 42, has competed against some of the best heavyweights of this generation, including fights against Oleksandr Usyk, Joseph Parker, Dillian Whyte, and Vitali Klitschko.
There were rumors of a possible clash between Wilder and Usyk, but Wilder will finally headline the first professional boxing event of Misfits Boxing.
