Wardley targets Usyk: "The biggest carrot" after Parker duel
Fabio Wardley, known for his impressive knockout record, is preparing for a crucial match. The heavyweight boxer has expressed his willingness to compete against Oleksandr Usyk, considered the biggest challenge in his category, as long as he defeats Joseph Parker in his next fight. In the event to be held at the O2 Arena in London, the interim WBO and WBA titles will be at stake. Wardley, with a record of 19 wins, no losses and one draw, including 18 knockouts, and Parker, with 36 wins and 3 losses, with 24 knockouts, could secure an opportunity to face Usyk next year. Despite having less experience than his opponent, Wardley is known for his demolishing power, as he demonstrated by knocking out Justis Huni and Frazer Clarke in his most recent fights.

It’s the biggest prize in boxing for many reasons.

Fabio Wardley
Wardley, when asked about the possibility of facing Usyk if he defeats Parker, commented that it would be a unique opportunity. He highlighted that, in addition to being a fight for the world title, it would be a fight for the undisputed championship against a generational talent like Usyk. He emphasized that this opportunity has multiple aspects that make it very attractive. Although Wardley managed to defeat Huni, at that moment he was being surpassed in the score by his opponent, indicating that the challenge Parker represents is different. Wardley is aware that Parker, with his extensive experience, presents a different challenge.

We have to have a plan A, B, and C because Parker doesn’t just have one skillset.

Fabio Wardley
Wardley pointed out that Parker is not only fast or strong, but possesses a variety of skills that require a comprehensive strategy. He added that previous experiences against other opponents have helped him prepare his strategy, incorporating elements learned in previous fights that adapt to Parker’s style.
