Oleksandr Usyk in the Spotlight: iV Boxing Seeks to Break Attendance Record
Ed Pereira, CEO of the new boxing event company iV Boxing, aims to make Oleksandr Usyk one of the most recognized athletes worldwide. iV Boxing plans a series of events this year, with the ambition of revitalizing boxing and attracting a wide audience. Pereira announced that iVB events will be broadcast on YouTube, and some will be free to the public. An event in San Francisco on July 11th stands out, with the goal of exceeding 136,000 attendees, setting a new attendance record. Although the fights for the iVB events have not yet been confirmed, the participation of prominent boxers is expected, including Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs), the current number one in the heavyweight category.
iV Boxing, which has already organized successful events, such as the one held in Times Square last year, seeks to break the attendance record at a boxing event, currently at 135,132 people. The event in San Francisco will take place at Civic Center Plaza, with a ring in front of City Hall. Pereira describes this event as a “transcendental moment.” The company aims for an attendance of 200,000 people, and to achieve this, they plan to include one of the most important fights of the year. The company plans to work with several promoters to secure high-caliber fights at the events to be held in both the United States and the United Kingdom.“We want to try to recover that, so that everyone knows who the heavyweight world champion is.”
