Usyk Challenges Jake Paul: “I’ll Wait for You in the Cage”
The world heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk, has issued a stern warning to Jake Paul, the YouTuber turned boxer. Usyk has stated that he will be “waiting in the cage” if Paul dares to face him once the Ukrainian decides to retire from professional boxing. Paul, who defeated former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson on points in an eight-round fight last year and then defeated Julio César Chávez Jr. in June, is scheduled to face current WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis in an exhibition match in November, which will be broadcast on Netflix. The 28-year-old influencer recently shared his ambitious future plans on social media, which include becoming a world boxing champion, defeating Usyk, winning an Oscar, “fighting on the moon,” and starting a presidential campaign. Following Usyk’s victory over Daniel Dubois at Wembley in July, the Ukrainian boxer came face to face with Paul in the ring. Usyk, 38 years old, firmly responded to Paul’s ambitious five-year plans.Usyk, who continues to recover from a back problem, is expected to fight Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley in his next title defense. The latter will face each other on October 25 at the O2 Arena in London.
