Tina Rupprecht, Undisputed Champion, Announces Retirement from Boxing
The undisputed atomweight champion, Tina Rupprecht, has announced her retirement from boxing at the age of 33. Rupprecht (15-1-1, 3 KOs) has decided to hang up his gloves at the peak of his career, holding all four belts in the 102-pound category. The German boxer conquered titles in two divisions, including the WBC title in strawweight. In addition, she made history by becoming the first undisputed German champion, male or female, in the era of the four belts. The news was confirmed last Saturday during the Bavarian Sports Awards in Munich, where Rupprecht was named Boxer of the Year. She also announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband, Markus Fritschi.
