Jake Paul vs. Julio César Chávez Jr. Fight Card Takes Shape

The undercard for the cruiserweight fight between Jake Paul and Julio César Chávez Jr., scheduled for June 28 in Anaheim, California, is taking shape, promising a night full of action.

Most Valuable Promotions has announced exciting fights that will accompany the main event.

Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield vs. Tevin Farmer

In a 10-round lightweight bout, Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) will face former IBF super featherweight champion Tevin Farmer (33-8-1, 8 KOs). Schofield, 22, was scheduled to fight Shakur Stevenson for the WBC lightweight title in February, but had to withdraw due to illness. Now, he will face an experienced veteran and former world champion.

Sharing the ring with former world champion Tevin Farmer is a great opportunity to silence those who doubt me and my abilities, and I know I will come out with the victory.

Farmer, 34, comes from two controversial decision losses to William Zepeda. Despite not having won in over a year, the former champion seeks to be the first to tarnish “Kid Austin’s” record.

Kid Austin is about to learn: my skills are unlike anything he’s seen. I’ll knock him out to teach him a lesson.

The fight card will also include Raúl Curiel (15-0-1, 13 KOs) in welterweight action against the undefeated Víctor Ezequiel Rodríguez (16-0-1, 9 KOs), and Most Valuable Promotion’s new signing, Avious Griffin (17-0, 16 KOs), facing Julian Rodriguez (23-1, 14 KOs).

Curiel, from Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, Mexico, returns to the ring after his fight with Alexis Rocha that ended in a majority draw in December. Griffin, trained by Brian “BoMac” McIntyre, who has also trained world champions such as Terence Crawford, Shakur Stevenson, and Keyshawn Davis, will seek to extend his streak of ten consecutive knockout victories against Rodriguez.

Rodríguez, who was a substitute in the 2012 Olympic Games, is known for having defeated Gervonta Davis twice as an amateur. He has been relatively inactive since 2021, with only two fights after his 2021 defeat to José Pedraza.
