Rahaman Ali, brother of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, dies
The boxing world mourns the loss of Rahaman Ali, younger brother of the iconic Muhammad Ali, who passed away at the age of 82. The Muhammad Ali Center announced that Rahaman Ali died on Friday in Louisville, Kentucky. The cause of death was not disclosed. Rahaman followed in the footsteps of his older brother in professional boxing, with a career that spanned from 1964 to 1972, achieving a record of 14-3-1. After his retirement, Rahaman remained close to Muhammad, even training with him.
“You can’t tell the story of Muhammad without mentioning Rahaman,” said DeVone Holt, President and CEO of the Muhammad Ali Center. “He was one of Muhammad’s most consistent sources of support during his career and their relationship was a true example of what it means to be ‘my brother’s keeper’.”
