Lennox Lewis, boxing legend, has expressed his opinion on the future of Oleksandr Usyk. Lewis believes that Usyk should consider retirement if he manages to beat Daniel Dubois this Saturday. Usyk, with an impressive record of 23 wins and no losses (23-0, 14 KOs), has already left an indelible mark on boxing history. Last year, Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lewis achieved the feat in 1999. He achieved this after defeating Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This achievement adds to a long list of successes, including an Olympic gold medal and the undisputed cruiserweight championship. In the heavyweight category, Usyk has defeated Fury and Anthony Joshua on two occasions, and already has a victory over Dubois in his record. If Usyk wins on Saturday, he will become the only undisputed champion of the four-belt era on two occasions.
Lewis went on to explain that although the risk is high, the reward is also high, as the title he can claim is significant.“Yes,” Lewis replied to reporters when asked if Usyk should retire if he wins on Saturday. “He has nothing more to prove. He could have retired before this fight and, by fighting Daniel Dubois again, he is taking a big risk”.

Oleksandr Usyk seeks another transcendental victory on Saturday against Daniel Dubois.
Lewis considers Usyk to be a world-class boxer and that he is at the same level as figures like Muhammad Ali. Lewis also talked about the strategy Dubois should employ in the fight. Although Usyk has shown his skill against bigger opponents like Fury and Joshua, Lewis believes Dubois can use his size to his advantage.Lewis advised Dubois not to let Usyk move freely around the ring and to pressure him with his feet, taking him to the ropes to force him to combine his punches.“Usyk has a very high boxing IQ, but he’s not a natural heavyweight, he’s a built heavyweight. Daniel is a natural heavyweight and can use that to his advantage, especially in the early rounds, and push Usyk against the ropes,” Lewis said.
