Joseph Parker Denies Substance Use After Failing Drug Test
Joseph Parker, after testing positive in a doping control, faces a crucial moment in his boxing career. The news, confirmed by Queensberry Promotions, shakes the boxing world and calls into question the fight he had against Fabio Wardley last October 25 in London. Parker, who suffered a technical knockout defeat in the eleventh round against Wardley at the O2 Arena, has vehemently denied having consumed any prohibited substance. This defeat cost him his position as the WBO mandatory challenger for the undisputed heavyweight championship, currently held by Oleksandr Usyk.

I was very surprised. I have not taken any prohibited substances, I do not use drugs to enhance performance, and I do not support their use.

Through his Instagram account, Parker expressed his surprise at the results of the control, assuring that he actively collaborates with the ongoing investigation and trusting that his name will be exonerated. In addition, he thanked the support received from his followers and family.

Queensberry Promotions also issued an official statement, informing about the adverse result in Parker’s test. The promoter indicated that, while the investigation is carried out, no further comments will be made. Before this setback, Parker was in a favorable position to fight Usyk, thanks to a streak of six consecutive victories, including wins over Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, and Martin Bakole. Parker’s future in boxing hangs by a thread, as he could face a suspension depending on the outcome of the investigation.
