The boxing world mourns the loss of a legend. Joe Bugner, former British, European, and Commonwealth heavyweight champion, has passed away at the age of 75. The news was announced by the British Boxing Board of Control on Monday, confirming Bugner’s passing at his residence in Brisbane, Australia.

A Career Full of Successes

Throughout his 32-year career, Bugner starred in memorable fights against figures such as Henry Cooper, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, and Frank Bruno. In 1975, Bugner fought for the heavyweight world title against Ali, losing on points in Kuala Lumpur.

Frank Warren commented: “Sad news to hear of the passing of Joe Bugner, former British, European and Commonwealth champion, and a man who went the distance with Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. He was in the first fight I did on ITV; a great man who will be missed. I send my condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.”
