Boxing Bombshell! Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis in November
Boxing fans are in luck. Two of the biggest names in the sport will face off on November 14 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The long-awaited fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis has been confirmed. The agreed-upon weight for the fight and the number of rounds are yet to be defined. Paul’s promoter, Most Valuable Promotions, will be in charge of organizing the event, which will be broadcast live worldwide via Netflix. The negotiations between both pugilists have been ongoing since the beginning of the year. Initially, the fight was planned after Davis’s WBA lightweight title defense against Lamont Roach Jr. However, a majority draw between Roach and Davis in March delayed the plans. Rumors of a rematch in August did not materialize, leading the parties to resume negotiations and finally close the deal for the November fight. The original calendar assumed that ‘Tank’ would fight Jake [Paul] after his fight with Roach. The result didn’t necessarily change anything, but our waiting calendar to see what Davis was going to do resulted in Jake fighting Julio César Chávez Jr.

Although initial reports suggested that Paul secured the fight with Davis after talks for a heavyweight bout with former unified champion Anthony Joshua fell through, Bidarian confirmed that that fight is still on the table and was never planned for 2025.

The weight difference is an important conversation topic, given that Paul weighed 199.4 pounds for his fight with Chavez at cruiserweight, while Davis weighed 133.8 pounds against Roach. The weight conditions for the fight are being discussed.I think it’s just a matter of pressing ‘Go’. Jake sees it as wanting to show the world that he’s going to fight David and then plans to face Goliath.

The weight disparity is reminiscent of the exhibition fight between Paul’s older brother, Logan, and Floyd Mayweather in June 2021. Mayweather, who spent much of his career at 147 pounds, weighed 155 pounds, while Paul weighed 189.5 pounds. The eight-round exhibition did not have a declared winner, but generated more than 1 million pay-per-view buys and over $80 million in revenue. The Paul-Davis fight will be broadcast to an even larger audience via Netflix, with higher stakes as Paul continues to prove his worth as a full-time boxer. Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) has been competing at cruiserweight and is ranked 14th by the WBA after his unanimous decision victory over Chavez in June. His plans to become a world champion will be postponed for this massive cultural event against Davis. Paul has been looking for this fight since August 2021, when he revealed a list of desired opponents on social media, which included Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley, Tommy Fury, KSI, and Canelo Álvarez. We’re still figuring it out. Jake will definitely have to come down from his 200-pound weight he’s been fighting at. I can tell you that we’re going to have a fight that will have a definitive result, whether by knockout or by decision.

Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) is one of boxing’s biggest attractions, but he has never competed in a weight class above 140 pounds. In his last six fights, since December 2021, he has fought at lightweight (135 pounds). His April 2023 fight with Ryan Garcia at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was a major box office success, with approximately 1.2 million PPV buys and a revenue of $22.8 million. Davis, 30, has been involved in a war of words with Paul on social media for several years and will seek to end their rivalry in November. Davis, 30, had legal troubles over the summer with a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an alleged domestic altercation with his ex-girlfriend on Father’s Day. Those charges were dropped last week. Davis will resume his boxing career against a former YouTuber who has also become one of the biggest names in boxing.Gervonta is an angry goblin who has been disrespecting my name for far too long. His nickname may be Tank, but I am an FPV drone and I’m about to disable his ass. Yes, he is one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, anytime, anywhere, against all odds. And I like my odds. First, I’m going to kill David, then I’m going to slaughter Goliath, and you’re all going to watch me do it, breaking viewership records again. Atlanta. Friday, November 14th. The worst night of Gervonta’s career, live only on Netflix.
Jake Paul
This is a fight between the world’s biggest fighters for Generation Z and Generation Alpha audiences. It’s really about who is the true face of American boxing and I see it as The Disruptor [Paul] versus The Destroyer [Davis].
