YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul, will face former heavyweight world champion, Anthony Joshua, in a professional fight on December 19th at the Kaseya Center in Miami. The event, which promises to be an unprecedented spectacle, will be broadcast live on Netflix. The fight, scheduled for eight rounds of three minutes each, will be held with 10-ounce gloves, the standard for heavyweight fights. This matchup marks a radical change for Paul, who was originally scheduled to face Gervonta “Tank” Davis in an exhibition fight. Instead of an exhibition against a professional boxer with a strong punch, Paul will now face a former heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist, a boxer with far superior experience and trajectory.Paul, with a record of 12-1 (7 KOs), is still a novice in boxing, with little amateur experience and only 70 rounds as a professional since 2020. In his last fight in September 2024, Joshua was stopped in the fifth round of his IBF title fight against Daniel Dubois. Following the defeat, he opted to undergo elbow surgery and had been out of action since then.
