Jahmal Harvey, 2024 Olympian, Signed with Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions

Paris 2024 Olympic boxer Jahmal Harvey has signed with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), Jake Paul’s promoter, according to reports. Harvey, 22, is considered one of the most outstanding American amateur boxers to join the promotion. His impressive career includes being a ten-time U.S. national champion and reaching the quarterfinals at the 2024 Olympic Games. Joins a growing list of promises signed by MVP, which already has the presence of talents such as Canadian Olympian and amateur world champion Tamm Thibeault, 19-time US national champion Sa’Rai Brown-El, Brazilian Olympian Keno Marley, 15-time US national champion Nat “No Love” Dove, and two-time US national champion Alex Gueche.

“We believe Jahmal Harvey can become one of the most important faces in boxing, both inside and outside the ring,” stated Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP.

Bidarian explained that Harvey has been on Most Valuable Promotions’ radar since December 2023, thanks to Paul’s association with Team USA Boxing. “Jahmal was our main target after the Olympics, and when we knew he was ready to turn professional, we focused on the deal,” he added.

Originally from Oxon Hill, Maryland, Harvey will make his professional debut on August 22 in a six-round super featherweight bout against Marcelo Del Aguila (5-1, 1 KO) of Peru, at the Most Valuable Prospects 14 event, which will be held at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida.

“When I went to Colorado Springs with Team USA before the Paris Olympics, I was able to meet Jahmal and the rest of the team while training with them and providing them with mental fortitude techniques,” Paul said.

“Even among the best amateur talents in the US, Jahmal caught my attention immediately as the complete package, with the potential to become a future world champion and a big star with MVP. It’s an honor to welcome him to the team, and I look forward to seeing him put the super featherweight division on notice starting Friday, August 22,” added Paul. In 2021, Harvey became the first American gold medalist at the IBA World Boxing Championships since Demetrius Andrade achieved the feat in 2007. He advanced to the quarterfinals as a featherweight, but did not win a medal after losing to Munarbek Seitbek Uulu of Kyrgyzstan. According to Boxrec, Harvey finished his amateur career with a record of 61-8.
