Naoya Inoue Adds a New Challenge to His Impeccable Career
The undisputed super bantamweight champion, Naoya Inoue, continues to set the pace in the boxing world. After successfully defending his title against Murodjon Akhmadaliev, Inoue already has his fourth fight of the year scheduled. On December 27th, Inoue will face Mexican boxer Alan David Picasso at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This fight will be part of the “The Ring V: Night of the Samurai” event. In the co-main event, Junto Nakatani will put his WBC and IBF bantamweight world titles on the line against Sebastian Hernandez.Naoya Inoue, with an undefeated record of 31-0 and 27 knockouts, demonstrated his superiority over Akhmadaliev last Sunday. This level of activity in a single year hasn’t been seen since the beginning of his professional career in 2013. In 2025, Inoue has defeated Ki Ye-Joon, Ramon Cardenas, and Akhmadaliev, and now seeks to add Picasso to his list of victories. Alan David Picasso, with a record of 32-0-1 and 17 knockouts, is coming off a majority decision win against Kyonosuke Kameda in July, after a ten-round fight. Nakatani, also undefeated with 31-0 and 24 knockouts, has had two fights in 2025, achieving technical knockout victories over Ryosuke Nishida and David Cuellar Contreras. Nakatani has expressed his desire to face Inoue, and this fight could be his opportunity if he manages to beat Hernandez. If Inoue and Nakatani manage to emerge victorious in their respective fights, a stellar showdown between the two is anticipated in 2026.
