Sam Goodman Revives His Career with a Commanding Victory

Australian boxer Sam Goodman, after a period of challenges, has resurfaced with a points victory over Mexican César Vaca in Sydney. This triumph marks a turning point in his career and opens the doors to new opportunities.

Goodman, with an undefeated record of 20-0, demonstrated his dominance at the Hordern Pavilion on Wednesday night. This performance could catapult the 26-year-old boxer to a world title fight in the United States.

Goodman’s team will seek to have the boxer, currently ranked as the best in the IBF super bantamweight category, be the mandatory challenger to face superstar Naoya Inoue.

There is a possibility that Goodman will share the card with his No Limit teammate, Tim Tszyu, in his expected rematch against Sebastian Fundora in Las Vegas in July or August.

A world title opportunity against Inoue would be a deserved reward for Goodman, who, at 26 years old, saw a million-dollar fight against the Japanese man thwarted in December due to two injuries during training.

Goodman faced economic difficulties after his scheduled Christmas Eve fight against Inoue in Tokyo was postponed, after suffering a cut to his left eye during training.

Subsequently, Goodman was devastated when the fight rescheduled for January was canceled upon the reopening of the wound, forcing him to undergo surgery.

The boxer ran the risk of losing his house, acquired last year for a million dollars, if he had lost on Wednesday night.

Goodman finished the high-stakes confrontation with cuts around both eyes, feeling relieved to have survived without major damage.

It was a blow that this gave me and then, fuck, it was a headbutt that it gave me here.
