Tyson Fury Announces Boxing Return in 2026

The boxing world is preparing for a new chapter. Tyson Fury has confirmed his return to the ring in 2026, marking a new turn in his career. After announcing his retirement in December 2024, after losing to Oleksandr Usyk, Fury has surprised fans with this announcement. In his Instagram post, Fury expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the sport, despite being 37 years old.

“2026 is that year. Return of the mac. Been away for a while but I’m back now, 37 years old and still punching. Nothing better to do than punch men in the face and get paid for it.”

Fury’s history of retirements and comebacks has made many doubt his decision to retire, especially after his defeats to Usyk.

“I’m going to finish with this: Dick Turpin wore a mask,” Fury said in his retirement message last year.

Despite his retirement claims, Fury has been repeatedly linked to an expected fight against Anthony Joshua. Plans for a showdown between Joshua and Fury were in the works for the end of 2026. However, the car accident in Nigeria involving Joshua has cast doubt on his participation in boxing. If Joshua is not available, Fury could seek a fight against Usyk or Fabio Wardley. A victory over either of them would allow him to join Muhammad Ali as a three-time heavyweight world champion.
