Chris Eubank Jr. Targets Canelo Álvarez in 2026

British boxer Chris Eubank Jr. has his sights set on a fight against Canelo Álvarez in early 2026, provided he overcomes Conor Benn in their rematch on November 15, according to his promoter Ben Shalom. Eubank Jr. and Benn will face each other for the second time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, after Eubank won their first encounter by unanimous decision in April. The rematch will take place at middleweight (160 pounds), with a 10-pound rehydration clause, just like in the first fight. If Eubank Jr. is victorious, he will seek a mega fight against Álvarez or even Terence Crawford in the first part of 2026.

“[2026] is going to be a great year [for Eubank]”, Shalom commented.

Shalom added: “I think he will emerge victorious in a resounding manner [against Benn] and then he will want to measure himself against the best. Canelo, Crawford, those are the two names he would like to fight and we hope we can make that happen early next year.”
Chris Eubank Jr. will face Conor Benn for the second time in November. After Crawford’s victory over Álvarez, Eubank Jr. posted on social media: “Eubank x Crawford 2026”. However, Shalom believes the fight with Álvarez is more likely.

“I think [Canelo] is the fight,” Shalom said.

“Canelo has never fought in the UK, the biggest star in boxing, and you have the UK’s biggest boxing star [Eubank], the only one who could really make sense for Canelo. I think it would sell out Wembley. I think it’s one of the biggest fights that could possibly be made in world boxing. Chris is focused on November 15th, then we can focus on that fight.”
