Chris Eubank Jr. Targets Canelo Álvarez in 2026

Boxer Chris Eubank Jr. has his sights set on a fight against Canelo Álvarez in early 2026, as long as he overcomes Conor Benn in their rematch on November 15th. This has been revealed by his promoter, Ben Shalom. Eubank will face Benn for the second time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, after having won their first encounter by unanimous decision in April. According to the terms of the contract, both pugilists are obligated to fight twice. The rematch will also take place at the middleweight of 160 pounds, with a 10-pound rehydration clause, just like the first fight. If Eubank wins, he will seek a mega fight against Álvarez, or even against Terence Crawford, in the first part of 2026.

2026 is going to be a great year for Eubank.

Shalom added: “I think he will come out of this strongly (against Benn) and then he will want the best. Canelo, Crawford, those are the two names he would like to fight and we hope to be able to make that happen early next year.”

Eubank Jr. will face Conor Benn for the second time in November. After Crawford’s victory over Álvarez, Eubank took to social media, saying: “Eubank x Crawford 2026”. However, he has previously been linked to Álvarez, and Shalom believes he is more likely to be the next rival.

I think Canelo is the fight.

Shalom continued: “Canelo has never fought in the UK, the biggest star in boxing, and you have the biggest British boxing star (Eubank), the only one who could really make sense for Canelo. I think Wembley would sell out. I think it’s one of the biggest fights that could possibly be made in world boxing. Chris is focused on November 15th, then we can look at that fight.”
