Chris Eubank Jr. targets a clash against Canelo Álvarez in 2026

Boxer Chris Eubank Jr. has his sights set on a possible clash against Canelo Álvarez in early 2026, as long as he manages to defeat Conor Benn in their rematch scheduled for November 15th. This was revealed by promoter Ben Shalom. Eubank will face Benn for the second time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, after having won their first encounter by unanimous decision in April. According to the terms of the contract, both boxers are obliged to fight twice. The rematch will take place at middleweight, with a 160-pound limit and a 10-pound rehydration clause, as it was in the first fight. If he achieves victory, Eubank will seek a mega-fight against Álvarez or even Terence Crawford in the first part of 2026.

“[2026] is going to be a great year [for Eubank]”, Shalom commented.

“I think he will emerge victorious from this [against Benn] in a resounding manner and then he will want the best. Canelo, Crawford, those are the two names he would like to fight and we hope to make that happen early next year.”

Chris Eubank Jr. faces Conor Benn for the second time in November. After Crawford’s victory over Álvarez, Eubank used social media to express his interest in a match with Crawford in 2026. However, Shalom believes a showdown against Álvarez is more likely.

“I think [Canelo] is the fight,” Shalom said.

“Canelo has never fought in the UK, the biggest star in boxing, and you have the biggest British boxing star [Eubank], the only one who could really make sense for Canelo. I think Wembley would sell out. I think it’s one of the biggest fights that could possibly be made in world boxing. Chris is focused on November 15th and then we can consider that fight.”
