Chris Eubank Jr. aims to return to the ring in 2026

Boxer Chris Eubank Jr. intends to continue competing in boxing, with his sights set on a return to the ring by mid-2026, according to his promoter, Ben Shalom. Eubank Jr. suffered a points defeat to Conor Benn a few weeks ago. After the fight, the boxer claimed to have gone through “hell” during his preparation, without giving further details about the problems he faced. Both pugilists had to comply with a 10-pound rehydration clause on the day of the fight, which meant they couldn’t weigh more than 170 pounds on the morning of the fight. Although Eubank Jr. has competed in the middleweight category (160 pounds) in the past, he made it clear that he doesn’t consider this weight to be ideal for him. Despite initial doubts about his future, Shalom confirmed that Eubank Jr. aims to return to the ring next year.

He’s okay, he’s recovering. Obviously he’s devastated, but anyone can see that wasn’t Chris Eubank Jr. in the ring.

Shalom added that Eubank Jr. “probably threw 30% of the punches” and that, once he is in full physical shape, the trilogy with Benn could be an option, if there is no rehydration clause.

Benn, for his part, has ruled out the rivalry and plans to compete in the welterweight category (147 pounds) in search of world titles. Shalom indicated that there are various alternatives for Eubank Jr., although they will not rush to make decisions until the boxer is fully recovered.

There are many names available, but first you must be in shape and healthy.

The promoter estimates that the decision on the next opponent will be made once the boxer is 100% physically fit, which could happen by the middle of next year.
