Chris Eubank Jr. Eyes a Showdown with Canelo Álvarez

Boxer Chris Eubank Jr. has his sights set on a fight against Canelo Álvarez early next year, as long as he manages to beat Conor Benn in their rematch on November 15th. This was revealed by promoter Ben Shalom. Eubank will face Benn for the second time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, after having won their first encounter by unanimous decision in April. Under the terms of the contract, both boxers are obliged to fight twice. The rematch will also take place at middleweight, with a 160-pound limit and a 10-pound rehydration clause, as was the first fight. In the event of victory, Eubank will seek a mega-fight against Álvarez or even against Terence Crawford in the first part of 2026.

“2026 is going to be a big year for Eubank,” Shalom said.

“I think he will come out victorious in a resounding way [against Benn] and then he will want to face the best. Canelo and Crawford are the two names he would like to fight and we hope to be able to make that happen early next year.”
Chris Eubank Jr. faces Conor Benn for the second time in November. After Crawford’s victory over Álvarez last week, Eubank used social media and commented: “Eubank x Crawford 2026”. However, he has previously been linked to Álvarez, and Shalom believes that is the most likely option for the future.

“I think [Canelo is] the fight,” Shalom affirmed.

Ben Shalom
“Canelo has never fought in the UK, the biggest star in boxing, and you have the biggest British boxing star [Eubank], the only one who could really make sense for Canelo. I think Wembley would sell out. I think it’s one of the biggest fights that could be made in world boxing. Chris is focused on November 15, then we can analyze that fight.”
