Chris Eubank Jr. Eyes Canelo Álvarez Clash
Boxer Chris Eubank Jr. has his sights set on a possible showdown against Canelo Álvarez early next year. This ambition arises if Eubank Jr. manages to defeat Conor Benn in their rematch scheduled for November 15th. Eubank will face Benn for the second time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. In their first encounter, Eubank Jr. won by unanimous decision in April. The contractual agreement obliges both boxers to face each other twice. The rematch will take place in the middleweight category, with a limit of 160 pounds and a rehydration clause of 10 pounds, as happened in the first fight. In the event of victory, Eubank Jr. will seek a major showdown against Álvarez, or even Terence Crawford, in the first part of 2026.Shalom added:“2026 is going to be a great year [for Eubank].”

“I think he will come out victorious in a resounding manner [against Benn] and then he will want to face the best. Canelo, Crawford, those are the two names he would like to fight and we hope to be able to make it happen early next year.”

However, Shalom believes a confrontation with Álvarez is more likely.“Canelo has never fought in the UK, he’s the biggest star in boxing, and you have the biggest star in UK boxing [Eubank], the only one who could really make sense for Canelo.“I think [Canelo] is the fight,” Shalom said.
