Dana White Questions Eddie Hearn’s Decision to Represent Tom Aspinall

The world of combat sports is constantly in motion, and promoters’ decisions often generate debate. Dana White, a prominent figure in the UFC world, has expressed his bewilderment at the recent decision by Eddie Hearn, Matchroom promoter, to represent UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall. Aspinall signed with Matchroom earlier this month, a move that will allow the fighter to continue competing in the UFC while Hearn and his team take care of his business interests.

“I don’t understand the decision”

Dana White
White, after the UFC London event, expressed his surprise at this new incursion of Hearn into the world of mixed martial arts (MMA).
Tom Aspinall con Eddie Hearn
White, in his statements, referred to Hearn’s previous statements, in which he expressed his interest in competing with Zuffa Boxing. White commented that the current situation is confusing to him. White was also confident that this new situation will not affect the UFC’s ability to organize Aspinall’s upcoming fights. Regarding the competition with other promoters, White admitted to being disappointed so far and criticized the current state of boxing. Hearn, after the agreement with Aspinall, has expressed his opinion on the salary problems of UFC fighters. In addition, Hearn mentioned the possibility of a fight between Jon Jones and Aspinall, offering a larger sum than that offered by the UFC.
Jon Jones
These comments arose after Jon Jones expressed his willingness to fight at the UFC’s Freedom 250 event, but no financial agreement was reached. White responded to these statements, reiterating that Jones was never in his plans for the event, despite acknowledging that there were negotiations.
