Catterall defeats Eubank by technical decision in a fight marked by cuts
In a fight filled with excitement and controversy, Jack Catterall won against Harlem Eubank this Saturday. The match, which took place in Manchester, was stopped at the end of the sixth round due to cuts suffered by both boxers above their eyes. The clash that caused the cuts was classified as an accidental head clash. This led to the result being decided by the scorecards, where Catterall obtained a unanimous technical decision with scores of 69-65, 69-66 and 69-66. After a slow start, the fight began to pick up pace, with Catterall dominating the early exchanges before Eubank connected with solid punches.
Although both boxers were ready to continue in the seventh round, the referee Bob Williams decided to stop the fight.
I’m not saying it was intentional, but as soon as Harlem was cut, I thought he ran straight with his head,” Catterall stated in the ring after the fight.
Jack Catterall
In his first fight at welterweight, Catterall felt comfortable against his opponent, who had less experience.I felt it happened, I went back to the corner, they asked me if I wanted to continue, of course I did. The referee made the decision and it’s out of my control.

For his part, Eubank requested an immediate rematch given the circumstances. It’s what I anticipated. Slippery, complicated. A lot of head movement. I felt like I was connecting the cleaner shots, the one-two, the jabs, touching and my distance felt better. I was ready to build on that, but I didn’t get the chance.
Jack Catterall
There has to be a rematch. Fair play to Jack, he didn’t ask for the fight to be stopped, but they saw what he was doing in there.

I was getting into the fight very well. We need to repeat it right now. The decision went against me because they shortened the fight.
