The lowest weights in boxing experienced significant changes in their rankings following the unexpected results on Wednesday in Japan. In addition, Xander Zayas became the youngest champion of the moment. Zayas, 22, won a unanimous decision against Jorge García, securing the vacant WBO super welterweight championship. This triumph boosted the Puerto Rican boxer three positions in the 154-pound rankings, now placing him at number 5. On Saturday, Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington maintained his undefeated record by defeating Mateus Heita by unanimous decision, being crowned interim WBC featherweight champion. “Shu Shu” also moved up in the featherweight rankings, reaching number 5. In Japan, on Wednesday, Ricardo Sandoval starred in a surprising victory by defeating Kenshiro Teraji by split decision, obtaining the WBC and WBA flyweight titles. Sandoval now occupies first place, while Teraji descends to second place. In addition, in the fight for the WBA bantamweight title, Antonio Vargas achieved a late draw against Daigo Higa after a knockdown. Vargas advanced to number 9, while Higa, who announced his retirement, maintains his position at number 8. Kyosuke Takami re-enters the light flyweight rankings at number 3, following his technical knockout victory in the tenth round against Erick Rosa, claiming the WBA title.

Updated Rankings by Division

Boxing rankings highlight the best boxers in each weight category. These rankings are subject to change based on recent results and performances. Boxers who have announced their move to a different weight category will be ranked in that new division, if applicable, only after having competed in it. Boxers who currently hold titles in two divisions may be ranked in both. Boxers who have not competed in the last 12 months, and do not have a scheduled fight, will be removed from the rankings until they fight again. Any boxer who tests positive for a performance-enhancing substance will also be removed. That boxer may re-enter the rankings after their next fight. Here are the division rankings:
