Devin Haney Returns to the Top 10 of World Boxing

In an exciting turn for the boxing world, Devin Haney has regained his place among the top ten boxers in the world, according to the Alofoke Deportes ranking. This return marks the first time in 20 months that Haney has appeared on this prestigious list, following his resounding unanimous decision victory over Brian Norman Jr. last Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he was crowned WBO welterweight champion. After his majority decision defeat to Ryan Garcia in April 2024, a result that was later changed to “no decision” due to a positive test for banned substances by Garcia, Haney had fallen out of the top 10. Despite having been knocked down three times in that fight, Haney had not managed to re-enter the list until now.

“In 2024, I lost everything, everything fell apart,” Haney declared after his victory on Saturday. “In 2025, I’m going to get it all back. In 2026, I’m going for everything.”

Haney now holds the tenth position, displacing Canelo Álvarez from the list.

David Benavidez and Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez Shine Too

In the main event of the night, David Benavidez defended his WBC and WBA super middleweight titles with a dominant performance against Anthony Yarde. Benavidez achieved a technical knockout in the seventh round, remaining undefeated and climbing to seventh place in the rankings.

“I rate my performance a B+”, Benavidez said during his post-fight interview. “I could have done some things better, but there’s always room for improvement. People wanted to see the knockout and I showed that I can make it look easy”.
