Eimantas Stanionis Returns with Victory by Unanimous Decision
Former WBA welterweight champion Eimantas Stanionis returned to the ring after being stopped by Jaron “Boots” Ennis, securing a solid unanimous decision victory over Jabulani Makhense.
The fight took place over 10 rounds at an agreed weight of 150 pounds at the Zalgiris Arena in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Stanionis dominated the fight in his return home, with cards of 100-90, 99-91 and 99-91 in his favor. The Lithuanian has had little activity in recent years, this being his fourth fight since 2022.
Stanionis is likely to pursue a world title in a new weight category, but his victory at a catchweight is not enough to position him in the super welterweight division.
Following Stanionis’s move up from welterweight, he has been removed from the 147-pound rankings. Souleymane Cissokho enters the rankings at number 10.
The following are the boxing rankings by division, highlighting the best in each category. These rankings are subject to change based on recent results and performances.
Boxers who have announced their weight class change will be ranked in their new division, if applicable, once they have fought in it. Boxers who hold titles in two divisions may be ranked in both.
Boxers who have not competed in the last 12 months, and do not have a scheduled fight, will be removed from the rankings until they fight again. Any boxer who tests positive for a performance-enhancing substance will also be removed.
That boxer will be eligible to re-enter the rankings after his next fight.
