Serhii Bohachuk Seeks Revenge Against Brandon Adams on the Canelo vs. Crawford Preliminary Card
Boxer Serhii Bohachuk will have the opportunity to avenge his 2021 knockout loss to Brandon Adams. The highly anticipated match will take place on September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, as part of the preliminary card for the Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford event. Dana White, CEO of UFC and Zuffa Boxing, announced that Bohachuk and Adams will face each other in a 10-round fight, with a contracted weight of 156 pounds. In addition, this fight will be added to five other preliminary fights that will be broadcast on YouTube.The first encounter between Bohachuk (25-2, 24 KOs) and Adams (25-4, 16 KOs) took place in a more modest setting, under the restrictions of COVID-19, at the Félix Pagán Pintor Municipal Boxing Gym in Puerto Rico. Adams, despite being at a disadvantage on the judges’ scorecards, managed to come back and knock out Bohachuk in the eighth round, who was then undefeated. On this occasion, both boxers will compete in front of a much larger audience at the Raiders’ stadium in Las Vegas. Since his defeat to Adams, Bohachuk has recorded a 7-1 record, with his only other loss by majority decision against Vergil Ortiz Jr., whom he knocked down twice in an exciting fight last August. Adams did not fight for three years after defeating Bohachuk. In 2024, his record is 2-1, and he is coming off a split decision loss to Andreas Katzourakis last November. The YouTube prelims will also feature 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Ivan Dychko (15-0, 14 KOs), who will face Jermaine Franklin in a 10-round heavyweight bout. Franklin (23-2, 15 KOs) is known for his durability and has gone the distance in his losses against Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte. Recently, promising 20-year-old heavyweight Moses Itauma mentioned Franklin as a possible future opponent.This is the rematch of a brutal fight between these two boxers. Adams had to win by knockout, and he did.
