Amir Khan Promotes Boxing Card in Nigeria: Glanton vs. Fielding
Amir Khan, former junior welterweight champion, ventures into boxing promotion with an event in Nigeria. After his retirement in 2022, British boxer Amir Khan has dedicated himself to promoting fights. His next project will take him to Nigeria, where he will organize a boxing card in October. The stellar event will be headlined by cruiserweights Brandon Glanton and Rocky Fielding in Lagos. I am excited to bring world-class boxing and the world’s attention to Nigeria for the first time. Khan, 38, expressed his enthusiasm for this event, which seeks to inspire a new generation of Nigerian boxers and showcase local talent alongside international stars. The former champion hopes this event will surpass the success of his previous card in Ghana, held in June.

Lagos is ready to shine.

The fight between Glanton and Fielding, scheduled for Nigeria’s Independence Day, October 1st, will be the first major boxing card in the country. Khan sees great potential in Africa as a market for boxing.

We are putting Africa on the map. In Ghana, we had a fantastic show.
