Middleweight Clash of Titans: Alimkhanuly vs. Lara
Attention boxing fanatics! Alofoke Deportes is pleased to announce a unification fight in the middleweight category that promises strong emotions. Janibek Alimkhanuly and Erislandy Lara will face each other on December 6 as part of the Lamont Roach Jr. vs. Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz card, at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.
This event, which will be broadcast via PBC pay-per-view on Prime Video, will pit two renowned champions against each other. Alimkhanuly, currently IBF and WBO champion, will face Lara, who holds the WBA title.
Erislandy Lara, with an impressive record of 31 wins, 3 losses, and 3 draws, with 19 knockouts, is coming off a victory in September 2024, where he stopped Danny García. At 42 years old, the Cuban is the oldest champion in boxing and remains undefeated in his last seven fights. His last defeat was in 2018.
For his part, Janibek Alimkhanuly, with a perfect record of 17 victories, no defeats, and 12 knockouts, is coming off a victory against Anauel Ngamissengue in April. The Kazakh boxer has finished ten of his last eleven opponents before the limit and has held the WBO title since 2022, adding the IBF belt in 2023 after knocking out Vincenzo Gualtieri. Lara represents a significant challenge for Alimkhanuly, who will seek to add the WBA title to his record.
