Frazer Clarke aims for the conquest of the British heavyweight title to be the springboard to achieve greater things, emulating the trajectory of figures like Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Lennox Lewis. Clarke, with a record of 9-1-1 and 7 knockouts, seeks redemption after the technical knockout defeat in the first round against Fabio Wardley last October. He will face Jeamie ‘TKV’ Tshikeva (8-2, 5 KOs) for the vacant British heavyweight title in Derby, England, this Saturday. The 34-year-old boxer, originally from Burton-upon-Trent, won the Olympic bronze medal in 2021. His professional career suffered a setback when Wardley dealt him a defeat that caused a fractured jaw and cheekbone. This fight will be his third attempt to obtain the British title, after two previous encounters with Wardley.

The British title is an important milestone, a natural step in the progression of a career. I know what this title can bring, and my focus is on winning the fight against TKV, without thinking about future fights.

Clarke, who previously worked as a security guard at boxing events, considers Moses Itauma, 20 years old, as the most promising contender, second only to the world number one, Oleksandr Usyk. The fight against TKV, from Tottenham, London, will be broadcast by BBC Television, marking the first time in 20 years that the channel has broadcast live professional men’s boxing.

Having more eyes on me and on boxing is a positive thing, but right now it’s the last thing I’m thinking about. I could have this fight in my garden. Some seek fame, but my goal is to be British champion, whether or not it’s on television.
