Dereck Lively II, Mavericks center, out with foot injury

Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II will be out for at least the next three games while swelling and discomfort in his right foot, which was previously operated on, are evaluated. The team announced this on Tuesday.

Lively underwent surgery in July to clean bone spurs in his foot. Last season, he missed more than two months due to a stress fracture in his right ankle.

Previously this season, he missed nine games due to a sprain in his right knee, returning on November 14th.

Lively did not participate in the last two games, but the team modified his status in the injury report, changing from “right knee injury management” to “right foot injury management” before Monday’s loss to the Miami Heat.

The Mavericks reported that a recovery timeline for Lively will be provided in approximately seven to ten days.
