Antonio Jiménez, Pitcher for the Toros del Este, Hospitalized After Traffic Accident
SANTO DOMINGO – Dominican pitcher Antonio Jiménez, belonging to the Toros del Este, is hospitalized this Wednesday after a traffic accident that occurred early Monday in San Pedro de Macorís, where unfortunately three people lost their lives. Initially, international reports suggested that Jiménez had suffered serious fractures in the femur and spine. However, a source close to the La Romana organization denied this information, assuring that the pitcher’s condition is stable.According to preliminary reports, the accident involved an SUV, allegedly driven by another Dominican prospect, and two motorcycles. The accident resulted in the deaths of Alfredo García (28 years old), Israel Carpio, and Víctor de Jesús.He has no fractures. Only a dislocated ankle and some lacerations.
