Víctor Pérez joins LIV Golf: The first signing from the PGA Tour

French golfer Victor Pérez has made history by becoming the first player to leave the PGA Tour to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league. The official announcement was made on Tuesday, confirming his incorporation into the Cleeks team. Pérez, who held joint membership on the PGA Tour and the European Tour, with three titles on the latter, only participated in the French Open this year, outside the PGA Tour schedule. His best result was a tie for ninth place at the RBC Canadian Open. Pérez’s move comes after the departure of Frederik Kjettrup, who failed to place among the top 48 in the points list, resulting in his demotion from LIV Golf. With a number 108 position in the FedEx Cup and at risk of losing his card, Perez withdrew from the RSM Classic on Tuesday.

Joining the Cleeks Golf Club for the 2026 season feels like joining the next great chapter in golf, as this club continues to push boundaries, performing at the highest level and bringing fresh energy and vision to the game.
