The news was announced by Ross himself through a social media post on Thursday. In his message, the commentator expressed his gratitude for the support and concern received.

Jim Ross’s career in the world of wrestling is vast and filled with successes. His voice became synonymous with the excitement and drama of this spectacle sport, especially during his time at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) from 1993 to 2013. His emblematic phrases, such as “My God” and “By God”, pronounced with his characteristic Oklahoma accent, became ingrained in popular culture. Other expressions like “He’s broken in half” and “That man has a family” are used on social media. In addition to his work as a commentator, Ross is a fervent follower of college football, being a fan of the Oklahoma Sooners. He has often walked to the ring with the university’s anthem, “Boomer Sooner”, playing in the background.
